    RIP Larry Gene Pendley of Vacaville, CA

    Killed because his hunting pal thought he was a turkey.

    Anybody know if he and the other guy are Calgunners?

              Saw this on the news tonight. Very sad indeed. But it reminds me even more to use proper gun saftey at all times.
              I heard that many years before, Larry Pendely had been shot in the face too.

                      A lot of people become complacent and overly confident with a lot of experience. Always follow the four rules of gun safety and no one gets killed/hurt. Tragic and preventable.

                          Mistaken for a turkey wtf?! I was always taught to know my target and backstop before shooting. I guess other people people just shoot anything that moves.

                              Before I let anyone near one of my firearms, I recite the rules to them until they can recite them back, and I double-check them at the beginning of any range session.
