Suggestion - Range glasses

Good day guys,

I have been trying to figure out what glasses to buy for the range.
thus far they have been cheap glasses. I wanted to treat my self to something nice.

I ended up ordering a pair of Oakley M Pro frams with Hybrid lens on line.

I am some what of a big guy and to me when i put these glasses on it seems like my eyes are almost to the edges of the glasses. Ie like maybe there not wide enough for me.

My wife also says i look dopy with them like there to small on me.
I don't care to much about look but if my eyes are open from the sides that much i would think it would be prone for injury from there.

Could any one suggest a pair of glasses for a person who has a wider head.
I know wiley x and a few other of the big names but i realy cant find any where to try them on. So wondering if anyone else has run into this.

I'm a big guy with a fairly big head (7 1/2 or 7 5/8 fitted cap) and I have an older pair of Oakley non pro M frames with these lenses and they seem to fit a lot better than the curvy normal m frame lenses.

I like the idea of just having to buy a different lens.

I just thought most of them would be the same size.

+1 on buying different lenses. Try the Oakley store or somewhere that sells lenses so you can try all of them on and see what fits better.

My Raybans fit well on me (7 3/4) and is anything are too loose if I try to run with them on. Got 'em at Costco for $75 (and you can try them on first).

Other than that, I usually buy my 'safety glass' at the local EMS store. They carry a lot of different kinds and styles, including different colored lenses. Throwing on a pair of yellow shades in the evening helps A LOT.

I like my ESS safety glasses. Heck, I use the smoke tinted ones as my daily sunglasses.

Oakleys are really nice as they wrap around without distortion...maybe it's just good marketing. they do have a lot of different cut lenses...i like their "Asian cut" ones

I also use ESS. My son got them for me on base. He said his buddies in recon told him the ESS is what they prefer.

I have a pair of the M frames and I use the lenses called Heaters.. They are larger and wrap around the side of your eyes... Here is a link so you can see what they look like...

These come in all the tints that you could want and if these are to big there is smaller shapes of lenses to be had...

I do plan on trying some Lenses from Oakley first this would be the cheaper way to go.
I just didn't think the other lenses would make that much of a difference from the hybrid i have currently.

I have heard good things about ESS before as well as wiley X but neither of them i can try on anywhere. ESS has a new pair of glasses called the crossbow they look nice.

My daily goto glasses (non range) are a titanium Oakley glasses i forget the name so i was prone to go for Oakley i love there glass

I have some fairly cheap browning glasses, they came with 5-6 different colored lenses so I look at it like 5-6 pairs in one for around 35.00. I've had them for 2 years(ish).They adjust like crazy, and the different lenses really help with changing light environments.

I'd say more important than the brand/color/style glasses you wear would be wearing a hat while you shoot, that'll keep the shells off of you for the most part, and keep them from getting between your glasses and your face.
