    Bullet button problem

Is there a certain depth that you have to screw the bullet button down before it grips the magazine as the one i have seems to have a mind of its own. Today at the range i had to turn the scew several times before it would grip the mag and hold it. The Mag never came out during the firing period, but later at home when i put a mag back in, it would not grip it. I tried to tighten the screw again but this did not seem to fix the problem, is my bullet button broken, whats happening here?

Sounds like the spring may be broken.

Normally, if the sleeve that threads in is flush with the center pin that it threads onto, you're GTG.

Did you use the correct spring? Your LPK came with two larger springs, one for the mag release, and one for the buffer pin.
I don't know if the buffer spring will even fit over the mag release pin, but if it will, it's way too short.

This bullet button is not on a build but on a Ruger SR 556 im not sure if it came from the factory with it installed or my local FFL dealer installed it, i will find out tomorrow.

I dont know the brand of mag lock.

Yes the sleeve is flush with the center pin and currently it is holding the mag but that can change as i constantly test it some times it holds the mag and sometimes it does not, so im assuming its not broken but just not in spec.

Once i adjusted it at the range it held every mag while firing so im surprised its doing this intermitently now when testing it at home.

Maybe swap it out for a new BB?
