sigpicLord, make my hand fast and accurate.
Let my aim be true and my hand faster
than those who would seek to destroy me.
Grant me victory over my foes and those who wish to do harm to me and mine.
Let not my last thought be 'If I only had my gun."
And Lord, if today is truly the day you call me home, let me die in an empty pile of brass.

Not yet. Maybe in two weeks. (Don't really know actually if they are) -
Was there on Thursday, and Mike ( I think that's the owner's name ) said April. He said paperwork was in the final stages. Of course, this is the fedgov we're talking about...Originally posted by UBFRAGDWhen I say people though, I am referring to fellow Americans who have jobs and trucks and guns and consider taking a day or two off work to drive to the boonies and let the lead out. The other 6.something billion of humanity is totally suspect, though.Comment

Things are very messed up here with the area FFL dealers. Many are talking about the other dealers being stupid and deserved what they got. So much for standing together against tiranny of the ATF.
I purchases firearms from many south bay dealers... National Shooting Sports, Irvington Arms, Sportsmen's Supply, Rob, Targetmasters, Kerley's, SJGE, and Chuck (plus Trader's in the east bay). All were very professional and had strict rules on the process and forms. Thus, all of my purchase experiences do not match in any way what I am hearing from the dealers.
So who really knows what is going on?
BTW, Mel Cotton has the best deal on Browning Gold Fusions and Coyote Valley Sporting Clays have the best deals on Beretta Urikas in my local area. Reed's is general the worst without any sale going on. This is as of two weeks ago.
I also fear that this unwarranted crackdown is having a negative affect for the ATF and the CA-DOJ. I fear this will lead to an increase of true face to face sales and cross-border straw sales ending in FTF. Prices are stupidly high here compared to out of state. I sure miss WalMart's Remington and Beretta pricing.
I am seeing more and more sales at dealers who do not stock shotguns but order from the distributor after the 4473 and DROS forms. But they are asking near MSRP pricing as if it is in stock. I was quoted $1070 for a Browning Gold Fusion from a non-stocking dealer. A friend was just quoted $900 for a Remington 1100 with the same circumstances.
The wholesale price for a Gold Fusion is $679 for an authorized dealer. Some of these dealers are taking your money while you fill in the 4473. Then order the shotgun from the wholesaler while you wait 10 days. They are using your money to purchase their inventory. They should discount more in that case, IMO.
The 10 day waiting period for long guns needs to go. Going to a NICS system (PA has PICS which is the same as CA but usually instant) will force the dealers to stock or discount non-stock items. This should help return CA pricing to more reasonable levels.**

SJGE was pretty sloppy. I loved the part where I had to call them up to ask if they had my Kimber in stock from the factory yet.
"No, it's not on the records.
Wait.
Oh wait yeah, it's on the floor here, someone put a case of ammo on it."
???
Congrats on turning my 10-day wait into 25.Comment

Targetmasters has gone overboard on attention to detail to try and avoid these problems. Last PPT I did there a few weeks ago involved filling out a pre-transfer info sheet of their own devising (and somewhat confusing, too), having all paperwork approved by someone higher-up, and an 11 day wait.
They also wanted me to take my safe affidavit home, saying "Stand in front of the safe and fill this out, then bring it back for pickup!" I'm sure tons of people forget them with a system like this. I just filled it out in the car and left it in the glove compartment.
I can't fault them for this, given how hard the BATFE has been cracking down on local dealers, but it adds even more time and trouble to an already tiresome procedure.sigpic

Sloppy is sometimes good. Sometimes Mike doesn't want to deal with adding numbers up in the head so he'll sometimes give you smaller priced items on the house or round your charge down.SJGE was pretty sloppy. So what are they selling there now if there's no guns? Are the big piles of random stuff dwindling down?sigpicLord, make my hand fast and accurate.
