I turned it on to give it a try. Does make a buzzing noise and i used the heat as well. It also had a fan noise coming from the bottom side of the unit. Does this sound right? Just curious to know if the unit is working.

When you clean your ar parts (bcg, piston parts or charging handle) do you have to separate them by using a glass jar or can you spread them out? Is there any danger to the metal if they are to close together?
The unit is working like it should. I don't worry about casings rubbing against each other and sometimes that does leave a slight mark or ring, but I would not let important parts touch as the finishes may get rubbed off. Spreading them out usually works just fine.

Have you used the sonic cleaner to clean BCG or other small ar15 parts(not ammo casings)? As for now, this is why i plan on getting the sonic cleaner to clean those smaller items.
If you do clean bcg or other smaller items, couldn't you dry them with a towel and air dry the rest? Or does it need to be completely dry? I figured the gun manufactures put on these coating would keep it from getting rusted
Yes, I have done small parts including pistol barrels. You should dry out all the parts, either by compressed air or towel and a heater; is spite of protective coatings gun parts still rust.

Since it's 11" long, have you put a full pistol frame in it? I'm thinking of buying one to easily clean a few of my "beater" pistols. I wonder if it'll be a problem if i just stick the whole assembled pistol in there for 20 min. I guess I'll have to find out!

I wouldn't since you would have to disassemble it anyway to lube everything afterwards.

Interesting product, good to know there are cheaper alternatives
