How long is your range trip (alone)

We all know going to the range w/ friends means at least a good 1/2 days time spent shooting and chatting. but how long is your range trip when you go by yourself?

Depends on what I'm shooting. If it's pistols....about an hour. rifles? might a couple hours if I'm doing some zeroing. Ammo is to expensive to shoot any longer then that.

I'm there the whole day when it's an outdoor range. If it's indoor, maybe an hour and a half depending how much longer I can stand being bored.

I do two types of shooting at the range. Shootin' the **** and actual shooting.

I never shoot by myself. When I do shoot, It's usually 3-9 hours depending on where I go, who I'm with, what i'm shooting.. ect.

I've found that after a while, I stopped " Shootin' the **** " at my range trips. I'm getting more boring as I age.

Shootin' the **** is expensive these days, so I actually have to work on my breathing and trigger control.

Man, I apologize. I didn't read all of the title. I didn't see the alone part.

I normally don't shoot alone, if I do it's to ensure something I tweaked runs. I'm in and out within an hour at the indoor range. If it's a rifle I wait til' the next range session with my buddies.

Ain't that the truth. Some people come to the range for that alone especially in our "membership" range.

Harass range staff for 2-3 hours, then go in to the range, shoot about 10-15 minutes or even less.

rifles, I take 1-2 hours. I don't get to go out to shoot rifles that often so I try to make the most out of it.

Hmm - maybe I'm anti-social, but I usually prefer shooting alone. It's pretty much for the same reason I prefer exercising alone. I can go at my own pace, leave at my leisure, try things out that maybe I wasn't originally planning on doing, and go as long and hard as I like or as short and easy as I like. I'm not beholden to someone else's schedule.

So, to answer the question, if I go to the pistol range, it's about an hour, give or take. If it's the rifle range, I try to make it a half-day affair, at least four or five hours. The pistol range is within comfortable driving distance of my house, so I always feel like I can go anytime I like, while the rifle range I go to is a good hour drive and so I feel like I need to make the most of it.

For an indoor range I'm usually done shooting within an hour. And thats with no more than hundred rounds of pistol ammo plus maybe a 50 pack of 223. Havent shot outdoor yet unfortunately.
