Ever seen an AK blow up?

Thought this was neat, never seen one go up before, I've seen ARs go off though.

Yep seen that before. At a Tactical Response course, one guy managed to split his AK's barrel

What would cause that to happen? Only thing I could think of was a obstruction from a dud

I'm wondering what could've caused that as well. Besides an ammo problem, of course.

          That sucks.

Maybe it fired out of battery?

Bet it was a cartridge case base failure; that is about the only thing that will dump that much gas into the action and still have the barrel in one piece

One of our Lt's had her M-16 blow up on her a month ago while qualifying. Have a pic at work I will post when I get back to work.

Wow, guy got lucky. I am somewhat scared something like that will happen to me with my Draco. Looks like if and when they blow up they stay together pretty good, but still

maybe that sabotage ammo that was to be circulated to the enemy got back to him?

eye protection is a must. I see alot of operators that don't wear it.

we got semi's so we should be good. LOL

Darn, wish the video had shown more of the aftermath instead of the camera man's shoes.
