My dad gave me $300 for my bday, and I want to put it towards my next gun purchase. I have a good job, and a bit of money saved up. I currently have a Service XD9mm, Ruger 10/22, Remington 870 12 GA HD, a Mosin Nagant 91/30 (not very accurate it seems), and a beautiful and awesome Russian SKS.
I am split on how to use the money. My first thought was 1K rounds of 7.62x39, but I figure I will just shoot the ammo up, but a gun will last much longer and it will be one my dad goes with me to buy and will leave a memory you know. He even said he might buy one too (he doesn't own any).
My problem is there are so many guns I would like to have.
Remington 700 SPS Varmint in .308
Another Handgun:
Another 9mm for similar ammo and so I can hold two pistols at the same time lol maybe another XD9, maybe Glock 17
.45 - XD45, maybe a 1911?
small Revolver
AK Pistol!
Another SKS to mod, prob a yugo - (nice one at local gun shop today, but $439)
wouldnt mind having a .308 or 9mm AR15 either...
I have always wanted a long range rifle (one more accurate than my Mosin) and so I was really looking into the Remington 700 SPS Varmint in .308.
My problem right now with the 700 is the added expenses just to get started. Decent scope, rail, rings, another caliber of ammo to buy, should buy a good rifle case, bipod, will probably get me into reloading....
The decisions are tough, I wish money was not so rare, haha. I wanted to spend < $800, but going with the 700 with the above neccessities will put me well over $1000 I figure. Buddy suggested I just scope the mosin first, but I am very reluctant to spend $200+ to scope it because I do not trust its potential for accuracy. I think that my barrel is in pretty bad shape. I know I would have a lot of fun with another SKS, I love shooting the one I have, but I will still need a long range rifle, and I do want another handgun...
I also need a bigger safe, but my room is second story and I am not so sure I should can even get one up without it going through the floor one day. And I don't want my guns on the first floor...
