I stopped by my local (Temecula) Walmart this morning to pick up some ammo and low and behold the price has increased. 2 weeks ago Winchester White Box 115gr 9mm was $11.89/50, today that same ammo was $13.49.

At least your wal-mart has 9mm in stock. Sure beats the $15.xx a box I'm having to pay elsewhere. -

The walmart in mt view has 9mm at 15.50 per 50. They had a lot yesterday, probably 50 boxes. I picked up the last 2 boxes of 550 fed bulk pack and they were almost 19 dollars. They used to be 13.50 not too long ago. Even walmart is price gouging now. They missed the boat by a year though.Comment

dunno if it's true but I spoke to a walmart supervisor and he said they might not carry ammo anymore after feb 11. Too much resource to put into training that it's not worth it. He the most they will do is maybe just sell shotgun shells.

I was just in a wallyworld this morning and the prices are the same as they have been for the last months... 9mm fed. $9.97per 50rnd box, fed. 22lr in 550box was still $15.97 per. UMC 9mm in the 250rnd box for $51.97. NO Winchester white box 9mm 100rnd. but the guy said if they had it it would be priced the same as it had been at $21.97.

LOL I love how loosely the term Gouging is thrown around. Stores raise their prices all the time. You just don't notice it as quickly cause its mundane stuff. I bet if you picked up a roll of paper towels for $ 2.09 and in 4 weeks the same paper roll was $2.99 cents I bet you wont even bat a eye. Even though it amounts to about 30% increase.
I don't see anyone FORCING you to buy the ammo. Either live with it and by the ammo or look for better prices.
