    FN FS2000 bullpup rifle

Anyone had experience with this gun, im thinking about getting one but my local gun dealer said they were crap, even said the recoil was bad, i thought bullpup was designed to reduce recoil.
So now im in two minds as to wether i should buy one, thats just one guys opinion so i would like to hear from you guys if you have one or have fired one.

It shoots beautifully. The trigger isn't bad. FN builds nice guns. It actually feels good in your hands. Since it dumps empty cases out the nose, you don't get brass flying near your head. Felt recoil on a bulpup should be less because the action is so far rearward, and it was. That dealer doesn't know too much. The only drawback is that it's bulky.

No feeding problems when I shot it, but it belongs to a friend. Although I've only hear good things about the FS2000.

Accuracy is outstanding. My buddies FS2000 was mounted with a Millet 1-4x red dot scope. You can't miss with that combo. It was too easy to hit steel plates at 100 yards.

I also shot his FN SCAR. Different obviously, but the FN quality was there in that rifle too.

            Your welcome.
Are you getting the model with the built in optic? Those are much cooler.

Not sure, can that be a later addition to the tactical rail model or is it one or the other.
              What magnification is that optic?

              Damn that thing is Purdy.

I don't know about you guys but when I handled one the first thought that came to mind was that it felt like a toy. I know for a fact that it will shoot well and be reliable and durable but when I picked it up all I could think about was how I had nerf guns as a kid that felt like they were more substantial than that thing. I felt the same way about the five seven, I just couldn't shake the feeling that it couldn't have been built for more than ten bucks in a Chinese assembly line. But that's just me.

I think your Local gun dealer has been playing COD:MW2 to much. That assessment sounds about like the in game rifle.

Personally I really like firing the rifle.....very little recoil and follow up shots were a snap....the weapon pointed very easily.....

It's bulky but if you pix one up.......you won't be dissapointed....

Saw the FS2000 on a show on the Military channel a couple days ago. Recoil looked minimal compared to the other, non-bullpup design, rifles they featured.

I'm saving for this rifle now, and have not heard anything bad about it.

I have only heard two negative things about this gun:

                          1) The previously mentioned bulk of the weapon
                          2) The mag release.....takes getting used to

I got an FS2K as an x-mas present for myself. Unfortunately being stationed so far away from my safe, I've only been able to shoot it once - the day after I picked it up.

But to answer your question about the optical sight; The built in sight in the picture is just a straight tube scope - 1.6X magnified - with a plastic housing over it. It is not the uber advanced, computer assisted 40MM grenade launcher compatible scope of the actual F2000. Its "just" a 1.6X scope.

That being said, when field stripping the rifle, you can simply push a button by the forward sling loop, and the plastic housing of the scope will pop forward (with some effort) and lift off the rifle, revealing the scope itself. It is indeed attached via a pair of scope rings and mounts to the standard length 1913 rail that is underneath the scope housing. There is a torx wrench provided to unmount the scope from the rail. Presto, you now have the 'railed' FS2000.
Add Aimpoint M4 and Magnifier, then post pics.

Personally. I love my FS2000, it weighs a good 2 lbs. less than my M16A4, and the way the weight is distributed so evenly, it might as well weigh 5 lbs. less - its almost Too light. Almost.
It does not have drop free mags, because to protect the internals of the rifle from dirt and debris, the magwell was given a thick, inflexible rubber gasket at the top near the action. This gasket is stiff enough that gravity alone won't drop your mags, it requires a reasonable amount of pulling force to pull them out.

Personally, I like it. Makes it more of a habit to save your mags rather than drop and forget, because to get them out, you Have To put your hands on them.

Who makes a stock extension for these? Or a fake can for the muzzle that doesn't require drilling out the pin on the flash hider? Or who wants to buy an unassembled FS2000 receiver and stock and do it themselves?
