Is the NAVY VERSION P226 compatible with 357 and 40?

Is the navy p226 .357 and .40 compatible? I see on the sig website tha it only comes in 9mm. But the regular p226 can come in 40 357 and 9. Will the 40/357 barrell even fit in the navy version? I'm pretty sure the mag will or maybe not. I'm hoping that the only difference is that there is a navy symbol embedded into the slide cause i already bought it.

It should be, the "Navy" model is identical to the standard P226. Just has the Navy emblem added to the slide. Unless you just have to have the emblem save your money and buy the standard.

If "con" is the opposite of "pro" then is congress the opposite of progress?

I already bought the navy. Man that would suck if it couldn't do 357. Does anyone know for sure?

The finish should be different too. Salt water is harsh.

A P226 that was originally manufactured for 9mm will not shoot 357/40 without a slide/mag change. The breech face is a different width between 9mm and 357/40. There are aftermarket barrels that will allow one to shoot 9mm in a original 357/40 slide. Mags will fit in the well but 357/40 will not feed from a 9mm mag.

I have the Sig 226 Navy model and shot about 1000 rounds through it. Typical Sig - functions perfectly and quite accurate. I sent it to ROBAR and got the NP-3 finish which is simply outstanding. It is satin smooth in function, cleans much more easily and is pretty much rust proof. Worth every penny! ROBAR is located in Phoenix, Arizona and does work for the DOD, law enforcement and private citizens. Look them up on the internet.

9mm slides have a 9mm breach face. 357/40 have a 357/40 size breach face and are wider than the 9mm. You can shoot 9mm only in a 9mm Sig P226. In the 357/40 P226 you can shoot either 357 or 40 if you have both barrels because the width and generally the length is the same for 357 Sig and 40 S&W and mags are the same. 9mm slides are made for 9mm only.

Look up ROBAR on the internet. You will be amazed at the products available (with photos) and accompanying literature. Sorry, don't have the capability to post any photos of my 226.
