    Visited a free state

Just got back from a 10 day trip in Georgia. It was wierd. I have a Utah CCW so I was able to travel and carry. I had a hard time feeling that i would not get busted and thrown into jail. No problem and the people at guns stores were very polite and helpful.

In looking for WWII pistols I was directed to a place in Hinesville. I asked about the pistols and was shown a real nice P38 that was going onto gunbroker. Behind the counter on the wall were 8 class III guns for rental. The next question was do they take Visa. Unlike the Las Vegas stories this was a dream. I shot a glock 18 and a Thompson smg. They showed me the basic of the gun and ask me to use the middle spot of their indoor range.

I got 100 rounds of 9mm and had a blast with the Glock. Boy that thing does want to climb. Next came the tommy and a 100 rounds. That was an anchor and was great. No one over my shoulder and it was just as normal as any other gun rental. The best thing was the price. 2 gun rentals, 100 9mm, 100 45 cal, range rental and 2 zombie targets and tax it cost me $118.

I was one happy camper and now feel a little more sorrow for CA.

I was in Savannah and the St Patty's day party was starting. Way to many drunks. I also will not leave Ca without fighting to regain our gun rights..

I was in GA, not too long ago, was in Buckhead and outlying areas of Atlanta. I wanted to visit some gun stores. The girl I was with was even asking me to take her so she could buy a home defense gun. I guess I need another trip!

If you had your C&R license, you could have bought that P-38 right then and there.

Georgia is only relatively free - in some respects, California has more lenient laws. The Ga. Legislature is working on removing some of those prohibitions.

However, you can walk around with a loaded gun on your hip and almost no one freaks out. Especially outside of Atlanta.

Which is pretty much the way it was in Santa Barbara, when I lived there many years ago.
