    Gunbroker.com- tutorial?

I just signed up and bid on an auction for a pistol listed by 10% firearms. I guess if I win the auction he has to ship to an FFL near me, then I DROS it there right? Also, I see many used guns (the one I'm bidding on is supposedly new) but is it possible to DROS used guns on gunbroker auctions as PPT's? It looks like some listings are by private parties in other states, how do private parties ship weapons across state lines? I assume they gotta use an FFL, but then does it become a non-ppt transaction subject to the idiotic, unconstitutional 30 day rule?

If they are shipping it to you, you will still be charged the same fee as an out of state transfer. From my understanding, both parties would need to be present for it to be considered a PPT.

I may be wrong, but this is my understanding of it.

any out of state transfers are FFL to FFL or privte party to FFL

I have had a private party ship to my FFL..but thats up to the FFL if he will accept from a private party. Some shops in CA will accept from a private party, out of state..but many charge such a high rate ( been quoted 125.00-150.00 in some shops)

...When I lived in AZ my FFL would charge 20.00 regarless and on occassions I would trade him ammo or Brass cases....ahh those were the days

OK, you didn't know how GB worked (more importantly how CA law applies to purchases that you make via GB or any other non-local source), but bid anyways, and its GB that is the scam?

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I agree, you should've done more research. It's not the website's fault you get scammed or swindled out of your money, they try and prevent it, but there's only so much they can do. A little common sense goes a long way

I wasn't aware ebay itself was a scam, nor was gunbroker.

Before handing out your credit card, or even making an account for things like this, you need to learn how it works first. It would be like signing up for an auto auction as a bidder, then putting a $40,000 bid on a ford pinto because you didn't bother to make sure you knew how things worked first, it's not their fault at all.

Get your FFL03 and COE. Then you will not be subject to the 30 day rule for any purchases, plus you can have C&R 50yo+ long guns from GB shipped directly to you. Gunbroker is a tremendous resource, if you know how to use it!
