Registering a Hand Gun

I'm new to the forum, new to handguns, etc and have the most basic of questions so please forgive my ignorance as I'm genuinely looking for some guidance. I recently purchased two handguns. One was from a store and one was a private party transfer at a different store. I waited the 10 days for both, did the background checks and am now in possession. My questions are as follow:

Did the background check by the dealers on both handguns qualify as the registration?

Do I need to fill out a separate registration for these?

What do I need to do at this point to make sure I've crossed my T's and dotted my I's?

If you did the DROS paperwork for both and did the 10 day wait.. The gun's should now be registered under your name. As far as I know you don't need to do anything further.

Not the background check, but the Dealer's Record Of Sale (DROS) actually gives the information to the state.

Handguns do not have to be registered - it's just that all of those sales that go through CA FFLs are, via DROS. And almost all handgun transfers have had to use an FFL since 1991.
