I need Info on this Randall 1911 .45 acp SS HELP!

    Hi Everyone,

I recently inherited this Randall Service Model - C, I need info about this from somebody that knows, It really seems to be a really high quality gun, all stainless, but The best I can find out but I am not really sure if I understood it right, but this model has a TLL on the slide which I don't know what it means, I read that a T in the Serial Number meant that it was a prototype but this isn't in the serial it's on the slide so I don't know what this means, also the best I can figure its a C model which I think is really Rare like only 10 made but then again I am not really sure, I did see models on Gunbroker the A and B series but they don't have any C models to compare it to. So anybody that has one or know about these please any info is greatly appreciated, thanks a lot Sorry about the bad pics- Jack

Seriously, try Google. http://www.sightm1911.com/lib/histor...ll_history.htm This was the first hit after a search.

The smart, learn from their own mistakes.
The others, well......they just never learn.

Try 1911.org, there are some Randall owners that are quite knowledgable.

Do you have any better photos? One thing is for sure: unknown where those grips/stocks came from - appear to be aftermarket. I have several different Randalls - I'm even selling one in the For Sale section.

That's a heavily customized pistol. One of those things where someone took a collectible gun and made it into one that's unique, but not of a whole lot of interest to a serious collector - but you never know. I'd also note that it's a sweet gun - it'd be a blast to shoot.
Yeah - I'm familiar with 'em...I own every model .45 they made with the exception of the rarest (1-2 made type) - there's 8 in my current collection, and now I'm chasing down the lefties. Passed on a 9mm the other day - I just don't like 9's.....

A friend of mine has a lefty model that he bought brand new, the day he was going to take it to the range his wife had a honey do for him. He also has 3 or 4 spare LH magazines, all new. I sent him the link to the article above. He never fired the pistol, still NIB.

I'd be sure to keep the gun lubed real well. When that gun was made SS guns had bad gaulling problems.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

in this pic, it almost looks like the imprint on the slide is crooked. I wonder if that would INCREASE value? kinda like an upside down stamp?
