Cow Palace Gun Show

I avoid the cow palace "gun" show. There are more beef jerky stands and craft stuff than guns. Most of the vendors throughout the bay area just bring their in-house inventory and mark it up 5-10 %. Useless show if you ask me.

Hell, I don't go there (RENO) just to save a few bucks. I go there for a wider variety of parts to buy. And they have a better selection of arms to buy as well. No beef jerky at the shows in RENO. Also at the CP I have notice more and more nuts dress like para-military. Whats with that? Knuckle heads looking for attention. The is this east bay gun store that used to have up to six tables at the CP. He quit going for a lot of the BS with CP table prices and the customers. Hell, with the parking and entrance fee that would pay for the shipping on some things you can buy over the internet. Again, for what its worth, I will never again go to a gun show at the cow palace. I am sure many others agree. Especially those people over forty. The younger people will eventually learn.

I hadn't been to the Cow Palace show in 4 or 5 years, but made the time yesterday. I couldn't believe how much cheaply made plastic crap I saw. And what's with the fake aimpoints and eotechs? Do people really waste their money on that stuff?

I did pick up a hammer for a M14 from the guy with all the garands and parts. I asked about M14 elevation pinions, and he tried to convince me the garand ones he has are "Army issue" (marked in yards.) He had a couple of beautiful Remington Model 11s, but I noticed nothing was priced on the tags, and quickly learned it's better not to ask...

I saw a few old guns and some collectable stuff with fair prices. CWS had good prices on their EBRs, and if you need to stock up on ammo you can do pretty good at the show (I have other sources.)

I'll probably go again...

in 5 years or so.
