I own a rifle and a shotgun and will soon acquire a handgun, hopefully. Is the background check the same for all firearms? I'm sure they are but I wanna double check before I put money down. Thank you.

yes, and they only do the check about 10% of the time, however you pay for it 100% of the time

I believe he is right. They do not have the manpower to check every firearm registration. So they "spot check" them.Comment

If you buy a gun outside of California from an FFL. They call your info into a data center and your approved or denied right away. It seems that California, with their infinate wisdom can't do this right. Most of the time people cry more about their form 4's taking 2 months to process.There are 3 kinds of people in this world.

Wasn't the implementation of NICS responsible for justifying the changing of the 15-day wait into a 10-day one? DOJ definitely uses NICS.Jim
