    first try duracoating (with pictures!!!)

I wanted to try this first with my Remington Model Five .22 LR Bolt Action Rifle. I'm planning to use this for varmint hunting the coming season, so I wanted to camouflage it pretty good.

my original Remington Model Five in all it's glory...

Here is a replacement stock I bought from Stockystocks.com

well, i got soooo excited to start painting that i forgot to take a picture of the basecoat of woodland tan. but here is the stock with woodland tan and woodland green already.

    now with woodland brown

now with the final color, flat black

now with a thick coat of satin clear, and now the finished product!!!
i think it blends in well!

thanks guys. i guess I sorta have some previous experience because although this is my first time duracoating, this is not my first time with an airbrush. i used to paint camouflage on my model airplanes kits growing up as a kid...heh.

Way to go for a first stock paint job! I'm impressed. What did you use for stencils?

Wow looks awesome. The tan is a bit bright for my taste (though it might just be the lighting in the photo), but nonetheless it looks great!
