when making a purchase do you mind buying the display model?

Well its time for us to be honest.
When purchasing a firearm do you request a brand new one and pass on the display one ?

Well I have had to passed on a gun purchase because all they had left was the display model and had hold off on buying it. when I see the display model all I can think of is Noobz dry-firing it and it being man-handled hour after hour.

Does anybody else choose to be this picky or am I the only one?

I request a brand spanking new one in a box unopened somehwere in the back too.

I'd try to see if they'd knock a few bucks off of the price for the display model, but other than that I wouldn't have a problem with it. Any gun that cannot handle being dry fired and man handled a few times is not a gun that I would want to buy.

I wouldn't have a problem but would ask for a little off the price if there was a noticeable difference, usually cosmetic, from a brand new one.

Nope I personally dont care. i bought a over under mossberg silver reserve for a price that would make your jaw drop. And it was a floor model. nothing wrong with it whatsoever but the discount was HUGE. If there is no discount Ill buy new but if they discount it i see it as money in my pocket instead of theirs

I always like getting a fresh one out of a box with the seal still in place. I have seen some handguns with damage from handling bumping them together with other guns or nicks from careless mag insertions. If the price is right, I would buy a display model though. I'm the kind of guy if I was reaching for an item on the shelf let's say at Costco, I always grab one from the back...

i don't only do that with handguns, I do it with all my shopping. grocery included. I never take the first milk, I take the ones in the back with the later expiration date.

At most of the gun shops I've been to, the "display" model is the only one in the store. So if you want it that model, that's the one you're going to get. When they sell it, they order another one. Unless it's a really popular gun, there's never more than 1 of anything.

I definitely ask for a new one- at the price they sell guns for I want a brand new in the box one. If they refuse to order me a new one I'll just go somewhere else, I've gotten a new gun every time I've bought one even if the gun store had the model I bought on display. They can almost always get a new gun shipped and to the store by the end of the 10 day waiting period, I guess that's one good thing about that.

yea as long as it is not scratched, or dinged it is still new and unfired (except by the factory).
