Time to vent a little...
This seems to come about every time someone gets their place raided by LE, then here comes the news cameras. Some collector suddenly has "an arsenal" and "thousands of rounds of ammunition". Anything semi-automatic becomes an "assault weapon". And let's not forget the speculating, oh man!
Let's just say something happened, like a warrant at the wrong house or something. You have done nothing wrong, and it will all get cleared up later. But for now, you're gonna get smeared by the media.
Let's say, just for a "what if" kinda thing, the police come to your house, raid it, and start pulling all your firearms out. You don't have one, two, or five total guns, but ten or more. Then they start pulling out all your ammo. You've got 1K rounds of each caliber for each gun. Now you have the evil arsenal with thousands of rounds of ammo. God help you if you live anywhere near a school.
None of those things are illegal, but it's interesting how the media spins it.
How do you explain that 2 bricks of 22LR gives you 1K rounds? How much are you expected to have? Would 25 rounds be too much? Ya gotta have more than one handgun and rifle. You don't take a 22 to go bear hunting, you need a little variety. What if you do IDPA and you go through a lot of ammo?
If for some unfortunate reason this happens to you or someone you know, how do you think the media would make you look?
