So i moved to a free state the beginning of the year. now every time i purchase a gun. i get a nics delay. 3 days. if its close to the weekend then its 5 days. cause apparently the feds dont count the weekend for review days. i leave california. and i still have a waiting period so im applying for a UPIN with the fbi so i can forgo the standard nics check. i have picked up 2 guns so far and both were delayed. and a follow up call was never returned by the feds either. guns were released after the 3 day wait. why even delay if your not going to follow up?

You should've applied for your CCW/CHL. In TX, if you have a valid CHL then no need for background check.

HAHAHHA, im going thru the same damn thing!!!! Talk about a PITA!!!!! I can walk into the gun show and walk out with no paperwork when I buy a gun, but two guns I got off of guys here that were sent to my local FFL have both gotten delayed!

I have been lucky, no problems for me in Florida. The CCW bypasses the wait, but not the background check here.

LOL. Maybe the feds are just letting you decompress. They want to ease you back into freedom. Heaven forbid you walk out with a new gun the same day. You might pass out from the shock, and hurt yourself
