Not so legal in town. My dad's buddy has a WWII jeep with a non firing .50 mounted. He can't shoot it, but he gets some great looks in Napa when he goes to the coffee shop.

I'm eventually picking up one of the Jeep dashboard pintle mounts so I can get my 1919a4 up on my YJ, but you can't really drive it around town that way
        Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

Not anymore but I used to have a 1919A4 on my '42 Willy's.

I don't know if it is legal or not and neither did a Sgt. buddy on Glendale P.D. but he assured me I'd be pulled over by every LEO who saw me. He said half would pull me over to check out the *****in gun and the other half because it would just have to be illegal.

Norm who owns Antelope Valley Truck and Equipment who is a huge supplier of Military Vehicle parts drove around in an armored scout car with propane powered 50's on it. The LEO's that pulled him over dug it and got all happy pants when he let them fire some "rounds."

I've thought about going it with my old '72 Power Wagon but, I got rid of the truck. I've thought about fabing a mount to hook up my 1919 on top of my rover. It's just not even a low priority on ny list right now.

It's not safe and it's not smart but it is hella fun to play Rat Patrol.

But don't do it because it's not safe or smart and probably illegal.

imagine my benz in flat black, with a mounted 1919. could put it on a quick release mount on the roof behind teh skylight. shooter sits on the roof with legs hanging/standing on front passenger seat (facing/shooting towards teh rear of the car).

NOT THE CALGUNS SPIRIT. if it is not expressely illegal, then guess what? ITS LEGAL!!!!!

on the face of it i'd think it might fall under open carry laws? possibly? maybe the Right People will chime in here.

now obviously it couldnt sit there on the parked car, that would be a bad idea for obvious reasons. but while the car is in the control of the gun's/car's owner (being driven, or sitting with it while parked)? might be ok?

Wouldn't it fall under the same laws as transporting any other long rifle type weapon? You can have shotgun/rifle racks on the inside of your vehicle, I Would think this is just a few steps beyond that.

I think it would be legal to mount. But, I think it is illegal to fire a weapon from a vehicle, moving or not. I know of exceptions to that though. One exception is with a special hunting license which cn be issued to a handicapped person.

I have a 77 plymouth trailduster and a 1919 thats going to be mounted to it.

Going to go with a pintle mount on the roll bar and a hard mount on the drivers side fender with a remote trigger cable...

the belt will feed via a chute in the fender to an ammo can thats accessable under the hood.
