    Run n Shoot Experiment 1

    Hi

    So last weekend 1377, JeePerz and I experimented with a Run n Shoot course.
    We setup a shooting box, windowed barrier and kneeling barrier and several targets. Below is a description of what we experimented with. I am working on 2 other courses that I will test at the next Run n Shoot test. Was pretty fun.

    Looks like a lot of fun. I've been setting up some stuff to do some shoot-in-stride practice, usually just sporting clays.

      I wish you were out here...
      I need your brain. I set my own stuff up and run it. The problem with that is, it's not a challenge. I like problem solving on run and guns...If someone else sets it up and then you run it, it requires more thinking and an element of surprise to an extent. You don't know what to expect, you have to adapt.

      Your course looks fun.

          Well said! The force is strong in this one ...

          @Penny's dad ... Good job boss! ...

          A few more thoughts on the matter at hand ... We could add numbers/letters on the target and post numbered/lettered cards at the shooting positions. This way the shooter gets to Pos 1 ... Read A B and C then it's up to him to adapt and nail the targets.

          We could also look at a ~5 seconds at each Pos, 3 rounds per target rule -or some variant thereof- In addition to under loading the magazines and enforce a "no mandatory mag change" policy but it will be up to the shooter to count his rounds ... moreover a "dummy" round loaded by an official in order to simulate failure drills ... Just thoughts to make it as real as possible short of having to shoot the contestant in the leg! (Joke)

          Regards,
          JP

            I'd be interested in seeing videos of these courses from the shooters perspective. Looks like a lot of fun and maybe someone could tweek it slightly and offer up a more difficult version.
