      Have you been before?
You are going to have a great time! You must rent a 4x4, because the mud there is crazy(and fun) Dress warm, take shoes you don't mind getting dirty/muddy.
I went a few years ago, and will again sometime.Camped out in the field, met-up with folks from 2 other boards, Oleg Volk was one of them, great guy, and take lots of money for renting MG's.
You won't be sorry you went....
Oh, its only about 45 min to 1 hour so. of Louisville

The videos make that shoot look insane. I'd be interested to go, but I'd rather go to Camp Perry instead.

Maybe my memory's going as regards the time/distance

Well, the campground (bring you're own tent/sleeping bag/tarp(ground cover))
and camp out. The hotel rooms in the area will be booked for sometime in advance. I stress the 4x4 rental.
The range IIRC, is $10- per day(cheap)
The junglewalk costs $30- I think, may be more now, and with video was $50-
MG rentals start at IIRC $25 for a FA sterling(30/35 rounds), to $75 or so for an M60. Thats for only so many rounds however.
There is a polebarn gunshow on site, LOTS of goodies ,unfortunatly, none to bring home, except Knob Creek T-shirts.
You've never seen anything like it.
Also, bring your hearing protection, You'll NEED IT!
There is a pink liquor store at the turn off, get your beer/etc. there if you go before I think it was 7/8 pm. If after that time, stop in the town before that (West Point)at the grocery for food and libation.
There is a gunshop/diner on site also.Don't miss the night shoot!
Since you'll be there a few days, go see the museum at Ft. Knox too.

Ok, looked on mapquest, and it looks like its approx. 25 miles from the airport to West Point,KY.

I don't advocate the mixing of alcohol & guns either, however, in the campground, at night, AFTER the shoot anything goes....
                    Use your head....

                    A wrangler should be fine.

Oh, mixing alcohol and guns is just fine. It's when you add ammo to the mix that you start having problems.

it's really a shame that I'm about to write uncle sam a massive check...I'd love to head home for the event...I could even buy, I suppose. I've got a nice farm 2 hours east of there; and my pops still lives in Winchester.
