if someone were to lose their entire handgun collection due to fire, theft, whatever, and actually had them insured at replacement value or had a ton of cash in the bank, would there be an exemption to the one per 30 days rule? Or would they have to spend two years or so buying 25 - 30 handguns (assuming that they would purchase all new. I know PPT's don't have that restriction)?

You'd be acquiring new guns in that situation. I don't think there's any exemption for them being replacements.if someone were to lose their entire handgun collection due to fire, theft, whatever, and actually had them insured at replacement value or had a ton of cash in the bank, would there be an exemption to the one per 30 days rule? Somebody else can pipe up here - does possession of a valid, current COE allow bypassing the 1 new gun in 30 days limit? (I think it may, not sure...)
