    issues with Spikes Tactical?

Has anyone had any issues with Spikes? Just curious. I've had a pretty bad experience thus far in ordering a lower:

    Wrong lower shipped
Waited 2 months (see excuse below)
    Poor communication
Offered a 5% credit to compensate for the delay ($8 whole dollars!)

They blamed an issue on LPK parts not being available (only notched hammers) yet my invoice states the lower was built AFTER they sent me a message stating my order will be delayed due to the parts issue. I sent an email back asking for the notched hammer to be installed so they could complete it and ship the dang thing. On top of that, it came with a smooth hammer installed. Weird.

I bought Spikes based on many Calgunners praises. Perhaps I just got a short stick this time.....

Despite the snafu, I am happy to start the rest of my build

I have sent Spikes correspondence detailing the issues - will keep you posted if/when they respond.

I have never had any negative overall experiences with them. When I had problems, I called, talked with either Tom or AJ, even Angela once, and things got taken care of.
I have never ordered a lower directly from them, but several 22lr uppers and a few toys.
AJ called back, granted not right away, but within a 48hr period, Tom is great with emails even when "normal" people should be sleeping. They are a small shop that has experienced a big boom in business due to their quality and price........

Never had a problem with Spikes. They are a small operation, if there is a problem you should give them a call. Tom is on ARF a lot in the Spike's industry section.

I tried to buy a st-22 upper late one night, and I added it to the cart around 11pm when it was 15% off. When I went to check out, it was after midnight and apparenty automatically went off sale. I sent an email asking about the price change and a lady "Angela" replied with "I hate it when I miss sales too."

Needless to say, I didn't order from them and used the money for a Garand

I've never had an issue with them. They always are prompt, let me know if something is going to be late, and it always shows up in great condition.

They're usually great about responding to questions or problems (or even a thank you mail sent to them), so I'm sure you'll hear back from them soon.

            My experience was mediocre.

I ordered a complete lower and did not pick the BB option.

They called a few days later claiming I needed to add the BB. I kindly emailed them the PC and explained that the BB was not needed. It was going to be used for a rimfire build anyway.

It was however 'store policy' and BB's had to be on it to ship to CA. I agreed on the phone and was told they would just add the BB charge to my CC. (Another 20$ or so)

After another week I still had not gotten word it had shipped, I called and they said I needed to add a bullet button to my order. I explained to them last week that I already talked to the supervisor and agreed to add a bullet button since it was their 'policy'.

They apologized that is never got fixed and threw in a free tshirt for my trouble.

I was happy they threw in the shirt, but would have been more happy if I did not have to buy the BB in the first place. The salesmen said he would include the standard magazine release in the box so I could switch it out when I attached the .22 upper, no other magazine release ever showed up.

No issues with the funtionality or finish of the lower it self.

On a positive note - when I did call a few weeks ago, I expected an answering machine since it was past 7pm in Florida. I very nice girl picked up the phone, ran back to the armorers bench and found my order there. Sounds like this is just one of those crazy, one-off situations for a shop that's usually spot-on. I'm sure it's hard keeping up with all the orders especially when they're selling kick-butt lowers for $89 bucks

I purchased a 9mm upper and buffer from them. I purchased it before it was on their website so I had to call them a couple of times to work out the details. They were very responsive and the items arrived exactly as I ordered them.

I had a great experience with Spike's overall...

Got a nice email from Tom (CEO at Spikes) and agreed to make things right. Nice to know they care about their customers.

They are a good company, I think they are going through some growing pains right now. They are adding new products every couple of months and that has to slow down production and increase errors. They always seem to make things right from what I have read.

I did have one problem, the firing pin in my ar22 upper broke and I trimmed my recoil spring too short. I emailed them and let them know what my problem was and asked to buy a new firing pin. They said that it would be no charge and they shipped my the new parts, got them within a week.

My experiences mirrors shooting4life's, I had a broken firing pin on my .22 upper. They asked for my address and within a few days I had a new firing pin free of charge.

The people at Spikes do their best. However, I think they just get so overwhelmed sometimes they need fire lit under their butts to get something resolved. A polite thread detailing your experience at the industry section always gets Tom's attention. But, glad he got to you and is taking care of you.
