Cal Customs (Fallbrook) - Unbelievable

I've always liked "Mom and Pop" shops and I shop at them as much as possible. I came across Cal Customs about a year ago while setting up a PPT between myself (San Diego) and a guy from Orange County. Everything went well, the service was great and the paperwork was about as fast as it gets. They have a great selection of rifles, shotguns, pistols, ammo, accessories etc.. they have quite a bit for such a small shop. They even have a couple racks of surplus rifles and used/consignments.. really a great shop. I've been there many times now, even though its pretty far out of the way.. every experience with Cal Customs has been a good one. They quickly became my favorite gun shop.

So 10 days ago I DROS'd an SP2022 in a PPT trade. Knowing that they are closed on Tuesdays, I called yesterday to confirm the pick up for Wednesday to be safe. When I talked to the girl over the phone, she insisted that she would make sure that I got my new Sig today, TUESDAY, even if it meant her coming in to open the store just so I could pick it up. I was astonished and told her that Wednesday would be fine, but before I could even finish my sentence, she told me to write down her personal cell phone number to call her in case her father wouldn't be there [doing paper work while the store is closed] to let me in. I can't even begin to explain how cool this is to me. Keep in mind this was for a PPT in which they made $10 and sold me $50 worth of ammo. I felt bad about coming to pick up a gun on their day off, but they insisted that it was no bother at all. I just can't say enough about this place.. I urge all of you to make a trip to Cal Customs if you find yourself in the Fallbrook area.

because most stores are manned by young punks! Fallbrook itself is a gem in San Diego. Hell most people in SD don't even know it exists or even how to get there!

Very true. Most people in SD don't know about Fallbrook and most people from Temecula really don't have much reason to go there. Its really a hidden gem. I'd really just like to see them get more business, though I don't think they really need it, its the least I could do to spread the word. These folks really earn their customers.. made a life long customer out of me thats for sure.

Naw, people just don't notice Fallbrook because it is too close to exciting Bonsall.

Me too . . . a little disappointed to be honest, as some of the bashing threads can be entertaining. But this is good too! Glad to hear some places still care.

There is also a new FFL in Anaheim the came and opened up his store on Saturday night after he finished attending a funeral to start my DROS. Now he is new to the game so he fumbled a little filling out the paperwork but that was not a big issue for me.

The FFL is StraightLine Tactial in Anaheim. (SoCal)

Yea they actually had 1 or 2 Garands, and at least 1 M1 Carbine that I saw. A few K98s in very good shape too, which is a more rare local find in my opinion. I was all over those K98s the whole time haha. That'll probably be my next buy when I'm up there.

do you remember a orice on the Garands.

And precison Arms in Escondido had some Mitchells Mausers in stock a while back. but i dont go there be because Jerry is annoying.
