    Cost of Primers/Powder in retail

I was out looking at guns at Barnwood Arms in Ripon when I happened to notice that hey had primers on the shelf. Happy was me until I looked at the price they had marked: $59.95/1000. I was expecting $40/1000 maybe $45/1000 but $60/1000??? Is this normal retail prices or are these guys gouging us? I haven't looked at retail in quite some time because most retail have little or no supply. Even Cabelas(known for being high), has primers $36/thousand(5k at a time with Hazmat/shipping brings the price to ~$40/1000). Barnwood was 50% more than Cabelas.

Guide me oh wise ones. Is this normal retail pricing?

Also, powder was ~$30/lb. Seem really high when you can still get powder for less than $22/lb delivered(assuming you buy any qty not just one pound).

That's why they were on the shelf.......my local shop has the primers still at
around $35 per K, but they never have any in large quantity in stock.

Powder is about right, it probably went up that extra few bucks because the
    shipping cost sure has.

At least you actually got to see primers.

They probably had 5 thousand of each type CCI(large Pistol, Small Pistol etc).

But man......$300/5k not counting sales tax..........

That's the highest I've ever seen, just paid $4 per hundred with 500 limit per type.
