    Does Wal-Mart sell guns anymore?

I called up my local Wal-Mart (a 24 hour one) and they said they only have BB and paintball guns. I know they don't display them anymore, but could I special order one from them and pick it up? The Walmart I'm talking about is the one in Stockton. If they don't sell any, any other ones near me that do? In case anyone is wondering, I wanted to see if Walmart still carried the 10/22 with a 22" barrel.

Walmart hasnt sold firearms in its California stores for some time now, prolly 2 or 3 years. Hell, they have even stopped selling ammo in the more urban stores. You will have way more luck, I would think it more ethically responsible, to make that 10/22 purchase at your local gun shop/ independant FFL.

Walmart hasn't sold guns in California for a few years.

Initially they stopped because the DOJ found numerous book keeping errors and violations of state law.

IIRC they paid a $3 million dollar fine and had to establish an employee training program if they wanted to keep their FFL.

They announced that they would resume after putting their employees through a training program.

After nearly a year, Walmart decided to abandon fire arms sales in CA.

My theory is that they were having trouble finding employees that could comprehend and conduct sales in compliance with California regulations pertaining to firearms transactions. If they did find qualified employees, Walmart had to promote them to store managers and increase their salary. Otherwise, once the employees got the training, they could go to gunstores and get paid better

Ah, ok. I knew about the DOJ thing, but thought that only certain stores were selling firearms in CA. Ah well. Thanks fellas. Guess I will go to my local gun store.

They deserve your business more than Walmart anyway.

while on the topic of wal-mart, has anyone noticed their ammo prices shoot up recently? i was in there yesterday at the cerritos store, and their winchester white box 50 rds of .45acp was $24/box.
