    Flitz polish

Has anyone here used Flitz metal, plastic and fiberglass polish on a nickel plated gun?

It's about the best nickel polish available. Wax afterward with non-abrasive wax (DON'T use car wax).

I love this stuff. I would buy 32 oz. cans at the Fred Hall fishing show. A little goes along way. This stuff is awesome on brass. I would polish my belt keepers, etc. on my duty belt and would not tarnish as fast as other polishes.

I used to use a little flitz on my duty gun until my coworkers noticed a sheen on the gun. It looked almost polished. I guess my OCD kicked in when I would clean my gun. Glad we got new guns, but I sure miss my old Flitzed out .40 cal.

About 15 years ago, I saw a cop who had a polished silver looking Beretta 92. I asked him how he did it and he said he used a buffer and flitz. I thought the gun looked like something a pimp would carry. However, this is good stuff to using in polishing metal.

I too have wondered about using this stuff on my satin nickle combat commander but I don't want to change the finish just clean it.

                        Up date

Well... I got a 2lb can of the stuff... In the last two nights I have polish about 10 handguns... I have to say, it works pretty well... It won't make them look new again. but they do look brighter and cleaner... Well worth the money... If your thinking about having one of your firearms refinished, try this first... It also is to suppose to keep it from any further damage... Thanks for the info guys!

Wouldn't it wear through the nickel on most nickel plated handguns? The nickel plating isn't too thick, if I recall.

Thanks for the feedback. My only concern is that anything that can polish, has to have some abrasive properties to it. Even cotton is abrasive, just not as much as steel wool.
