    AR-15 M7 bayonet

Is it common for these surplus bayonets to look like crap? I went to a local surplus store today and saw about 4 of these for sale. All of them looked like they have been put through the wringer. Rust and dinged up blades, I was really looking forward in buying one of these too. How are the ones at the gun shows? Del Mar gun show is coming next Saturday, and I really want one.

The M7 has been long obsolete, tossed into empty barrels for the trip to DRMO.

As they are not collector knives, buy a cruddy one and clean it up.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero

Isn't the m9 the bayonet we're using now?

If the blade was in good condition I would have bought it. The rust didn't bother me. It was the dinged up blade and broken tip that turned me off. No amount of labor will make those things worth the $46 he was asking for them.

A Good used one should be about $25-35

A crappy one I wouldnt bother with.
There are some German made ones around too.

Does anyone know if gun shows sell these bayonets. Gun show is coming this weekend to Del Mar and I was wondering about it.

the m7 is a fine bayonet... much better than the m9

the m9 may serve as a better utility blade however
but nothing beats the poke power of the m7

you can buy a brand new ontario made one for cheap
i have an imperial m7 for teh zombies lol

The one I was issued when we were in the sandbox was pretty ratty, but all the parts were there, it locked onto the bayo lug, and it took an edge. We used to practise throwing them into wooden targets when we know the indigenous people were watching, just to keep up appearances.

You can get 'em new from Ontario as J said, and since they're OEM supplier for a lot of knifey stuff, the quality is good.

Hell, EVERY M7 that I was issued back in the late '80s was dinged up and dull, with round tips just a teeny bit sharper than a butter knife.

Has anyone here seen them for sale at the shows? If I can pick one up on saturday that would be cool.
