    Can some one do this?

    Ok
If a person is suposed to be a legal business entity. Can they buy ammo from private party and then resell it as new ammo? i thought the vendor has to buy his ammo from a supplier. if he buys it from a private party it cannot be resold because you never know if it was tampered with or whatever? Can he legally sell used/previously purchased ammo by a person from a gunstore/sporting goods store as new ammo on his website or ads? Doesnt that make it a liability not only in safety but a legal liability?
I ran across something like this just recently
    Thanx

I don't know the legality of it, but I know the gunshops cannot take back the ammo they sold.

you would need to investigate the regulations involved with getting a permit to sell ammunition. there should be a set of guidelines that need to be fulfilled in order to be in compliance with have a resale permit for ammunition.

The private party that manufactured the ammo could be in trouble. 18 USC 923 (a) requires that they be licensed by the feds:

            (a) No person shall engage in the business of importing, manufacturing, or dealing in firearms, or importing or manufacturing ammunition, until he has filed an application with and received a license to do so from the Attorney General.
AFAIK, the business reselling the ammo is doing nothing legally wrong.

My friends dad brought him a box of ammo that was entirely comprised of reloads. Said he bought it in a gun shop on his way to town.
              never thought anything of it

the private party in this case isn't making ammo. the question lies in whether a business can buy ammo from a private sale (ie like in classifieds we have here) then turn around and sell that same ammo as "new".

kinda like if a gun store bought ammo off a guy who bought ammo off wal-mart type thing.

That is illegal and you can contact ATF or doj.

I ran into a similair issue.

We buy surplus ammo at gunshows all the time. If there is a crime it would be selling as new.

you can most likely blame 60%(if not higher) of all gun shops in CA of doing this when ammo was scarce.
