Reguards LWRC new REPR

Has LWRC come up with some vast improvement over similar models such as the H&K G3/ PTR 91 or even the FAL/L1A1, with coming out with this rifle.

Its sweet looking but beyond the marketing dress up what are you really getting for the Price and the fact that you can switch barrel lengths for sniper application over assault performance.

There brochure states it has a sustained rate of fire at 55 rpm so does this mean it only comes select fire only.

The G3 and the Fal are the only two rifles i could think it would be comparable to, given that they are old designs is there anything else that comes close.

Is it worth the $3000 plus price tag.

The CETME/G3/HK91/PTR91 uses a delayed blowback system, whereas the FAL/L1A1/STG58 and LWRC uses a gas-piston system.

The LWRC REPR is a very good gas-piston 7.62x51mm AR type rifle.
However, you can get a comparable direct-impingment 7.62x51mm AR type rifle for less money. Check out the LMT MRP308 that the UK military just adopted, it costs less than the LWRC REPR.

I have been hearing a little backfire on these rifles concerning the fact that the barrels are made by Ruger, and the price. There are also those who think a piston gun and accurracy do not go hand in hand.

As for the 55 rpm, that would make it a semi or a ridiculously slow(could it even function?) full auto weapon. It's a semi not a select fire weapon.
