    Saiga peep sights

So I want a good aperture sight for my Saiga but I am not sure if I am down with all the options. Here is what I have so far...

    1) Mojo aperture
    2) Tech-Sights
    3) One of those big-*** rails that I can throw an aperture onto.
    4) Side mounting rail that comes over the top and allows me to mount a sight.

Trying to keep the weight of my rifle low and my versatility high. I like the tech sights but there have only been a few reviews and it seems like the cleaning procedure for the AK will be a pain (corrosive ammo and all, extra procedures for removing the dust cover). I also like the Mojo aperture but I am not certain if it will give me any appreciable results.

What say you, calgunners? Any experiences or anything with this stuff?

well i got a mojo micro click and i really love it.
i picked one up because it seemed my front sight base may have been a little canted. However i was really surprised how much better i could shoot with this set up rather then the stock rear sight. only thing is the micro clip bumps up the rear sight with evry click but has no markings to tell you yardage ,only dots... so you got to take it out shoot it and see what each bump dose for you, then mark where you want it for what ever distance. it seems like a pain but for the improvment it has done for my shooting it was worth it.

i also have a side mounted easy detach mount with a bushnell trophy red dot i use sometimes with real excelent results...
the side mount is a no name with a throw lever and wouldnt you know it it keeps pretty close to zero when i remove it and put it back on...

if i would have to pick one set up or the other i would go with the microclick....

    hope this helps!

let me know what you do, nate! i am considering mojo's for my ak. i like the mojo price of 59 bucks (for the microclick) over the $125 (for their adjustable, as opposed to the fixed 100yd/200yd apertures). not to mention you may need additional parts to install them... thats probably gonna make or break it for me. plus people only have good things to say about the mojo...

MOJO makes a quality sight. You could also get a UTG side rail mount from centerfire systems and mount a inexpensive red dot on it.

I have a Bushnell 1x25 Trophy Series TRS-25 3 MOA Red Dot Riflescope on this mount.

It's amazingly light and accurate. It also can be easily removed and returns to zero.

Here is a link to the centerfire mount. It's a real deal at $26.00

You could get both the MOJO and the red dot. The MOJO would "back up" the red dot if it were to fail.

The best way i've improved iron sights on an AK is to weld on HK rear sight to the receiver cover. It's stable and i'm good for large pizza sized groups at 500+ yards. Anything 200 yards and in, is pretty much dinner plate groups. Thats not AR tack driver but it's an AK.

The front was from a left over SKS project.
I think the complete set is under 60$. I lined everything up with a string and a couple of line levels. I was a couple inchs right the first time out.

Just make sure everything is on the same plane, or you'll run into elevation problems when sighting in. I used a string and a couple of line levels before I tacked everything.
