I got this in email about the local NRA council's shoot. They have one of
these every year and everyone is invited. Bring a friend, spouse, coworker,
or anyone who would like to learn more about guns. It's at the San Leandro
range.

The NRA MEMBERS' COUNCIL OF ALAMEDA COUNTY
will host a MARCH FUN SHOOT on Sunday, March 18, at 11:00 a.m.
at the San Leandro Davis Street Range
Everyone is invited!
We're holding our first 2007 Fun Shoot at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 18, at the San Leandro Rifle and Pistol Range (directions follow below).
Come and join us for a fun time shooting, and bring your non-shooting friends!
Training! Several or our MC's NRA-certified firearm instructors will be on hand. We will also have a preliminary safety class for any novice shooters.
Discount! We've negotiated a small discount for our Fun Shoot participants. When you check in with the rangemaster, be sure to mention that you're with the MC Fun Shoot. That will insure that you get the discount.
Barbecue! The range will again provide a barbecue for the event. It's a fund raiser for them and good food for us. The hot dogs and hamburgers are tasty, very reasonably priced and they raise needed funds for the range, so plan to nosh on Chef Bill Sprague's culinary delights.
Why? As always, our Fun Shoots have two basic objectives. The first, of course, is to get our MC members together to socialize while engaging in one of our favorite pastimes. The second is much more important. It's to introduce newcomers to our sport. Therefore:
Bring your friends! You're all urged to invite your family, your friends, your neighbors, your co-workers, your spouses and your significant others to join us. Especially your spouses and significant others! The biggest gripe I hear from women is that their husbands and boyfriends don't invite them shooting!
Plan to share! THIS IS IMPORTANT! You're also urged to bring plenty of guns and ammo to share with any novice shooters that we host!
Important caveats: Both handguns and rifles are fine. However, it is important to note that the range DOES NOT ALLOW RIFLE full metal jacket (FMJ), aka "ball," ammunition. Ball IS FINE FOR HANDGUNS. Also, while handgun .357 and .44 magnum loads are fine at the outdoor range, they are not allowed in the indoor range.
Range fees are each individual's responsibility, but we will enjoy a discount. The range is open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and we can shoot as long as we want to.
