Medicinal marijuana doesn't need a test case in California.

The Feds say you cannot own guns if you do dope, so why wouldn't this be a test case?

yep. the 4473 question 11e asks if you are "unlawful user" or "addicted" to marijuana.

I am not up to date on federal marijuana laws, but I recall technically all marijuana users are illegal except a very small group of people with grandfathered in permits. And the definition of "addicted" is to be debated.

While feds have not focusing on raiding dispensaries, I imagine a guy who uses medical weed and shoots intruders with a pistol may yield a test case.

Or the DA just calls it a justifiable self defense and defer it to the feds and the feds ignore it. Who knows.

Maybe he didn't fill out a 4473... there was a day in this state when private party sales did not have to go through an FFL.

Then the GCA of 68 would have done the same thing. The 4473 was a product of the GCA....

There really is no "debate" to addiction.
Long-term marijuana abuse can lead to addiction; that is, compulsive drug seeking and abuse despite its known harmful effects upon social functioning in the context of family, school, work, and recreational activities. Long-term marijuana abusers trying to quit reportirritability, sleeplessness, decreased appetite, anxiety, and drug craving, all of which make it difficult to quit. These withdrawal symptoms begin within about 1 day following abstinence, peak at 2-3 days, and subside within 1 or 2 weeks following drug cessation.

I don't smoke marijuana but you've got to be kidding me. I don't buy into all this crap about marijuana addiction/abuse and "compulsive drug seeking" behavior. I've known plenty of people who smoke marijuana both regularly and casually and I've yet to see anyone go through withdrawal symptoms worth noting.

Don't like the use of grabbed in the reports. Cali is already a gun grabbing state. We need no help associating grab with guns. Had this been a LEO's house I guarantee you many official verbs would have been substituted.
