If you want to do it yourself you could rent a trailer with a drop deck. In my area (LA) they charge $40 per day to rent. A drop deck is where the floor of the trailer lowers to the ground for loading, and then raises back up once you are done loading and ready to travel. That will get the safe from the store to your house without breaking your back. Once you've got it to your house, you can utilize some 1/2" solid metal bars to move the safe around. If you have to go up a step or over carpet, you can lay down some thick plywood or some sheets of metal that are strong enough to support the weight.

The last safe I had moved, the guys were using sheets of titanium to roll the safe on, with the metal rods under the safe. The metal rods allow you to move the safe in whatever direction you want without using alot of muscle. The titanium sheets were thin yet strong enough to support the weight of the safe and pliable enough to bend over uneven surfaces. Do a search on safe moving and you'll get all kinds of great ideas on how to move a safe.

When Costco put the Canon safe on sale, I bought one. $579 delivered plus tax. Freight Co. was nice enough to drop it in the garage. I then got a little help from friends to move it with a dolly.

Very happy with my safe.

I know someone with the 39" wide version and he loves it. It has 10 gauge steel versus the 12 to 14 found on most others. There are better safes, but not many better values.

Nice looking safe. I could either a bigger one, or another one. Im not sold on the electronic key pad entry though. I've talked to a couple of "safe guys" and asked them "what would happen if a bad guy broke into your home, and out of fustration due to not being able to access the safe, lifts the key pad and cuts the wires?" Both could not answer the question but did add that it wouldn't be good.

what, you think it would open? like in the movies when they spray soda in a security system to short it out and get into the vault? they didnt know because no one is dumb enough to do it. It would be stuck in the locked setting and would require the override keys....i hope

My father-in-law just ordered one a few weeks ago. The thing is a beast. The delivery guys were kind enough to push it up into the garage instead of leaving it at the curb.
