    Picked-up my FN 5.7

Real quick. I picked up my FN 5.7 USG over lunch yesterday at Barnwood Arms in Ripon and had the opportunity to put 50rnds through it at their indoor range. I have to say I was impressed, especially since the opinions are mixed on this round. Fun and extremely quick and accurate to target and shoot. And the muzzle flash was awsome! Unexpectedly large with the SS197SR round and bigger than the 10mm G20 I also brought with me! Thumbs-up to the FN 5.7. Love it. Totally recommend it.

Also a big thumbs up to Barnwood Arms. It's a little out of my way but they have a nice shop and a functional indoor range, and the guys there are very cool.

Bought my first 1911 there many many years ago (back before they had the indoor range).

Congrats on the 5.7 and welcome to the club.

I love shooting my fiveseven. It's extremely accurate at longer distances.

Great...I love my Five Seven. Very accurate, easy to shoot, and the ammo's not TOO bad if you buy in bulk...
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
              Come on...what harm??

Yeah love mine too. Still gets me weird looks when people see the round.

The Model 610 was classified as the XM177[3] but adopted by the Air Force as the GAU-5/A Submachine Gun (GAU = Gun, Aircraft, Unit.) The Army purchased 2,815 Model 609 CAR-15 Commandos on June 28, 1966, which were officially designated Submachine Gun, 5.56 mm, XM177E1. - Wikipedia

I'm not good at taking the glam shots, but here it is. I had the Lasermax sitting around so I slapped it on there.

Edit: Didn't realize I was posting on the 2nd page. Disregard.

Congrats on the new pistol. I noticed with 197 impact was low with factory sight settings - but with 192, the impact is dead even with the factory sight settings.

Put 50 rounds through it the day I picked it up. It was smooth.

You're correct. I noticed the 197 impact was a little low as well. I don't think the 192 is available any longer or, at least, nobody shelves it. I was going to try the 195LF next, which is also readily available.

I love the fact that 5.7 ammo isn't difficult to find and isn't too ridiculously priced.
