Yes I used CCR to refinish my P6. The end product was perfect, the Customer Service was another thing.

If you read around you will come across a few experiences like mine, so it seems to have happened more than a few times.

Anyways, I contacted them and asked for pricing for the options I wanted(refinish entire gun in 2 tone, instal new springs and night sites). I then asked for a realistic turn around time, I was told 6 weeks.

I shipped off my pistol and waited, about 3 weeks later I noticed a double charge from CCR on my Amex, I contacted them and they said their service machine had messed up and they would correct it in a few days. A week later charges were still there, tried contacting them for about 10 days, could never get a person on the phone and messages were never answered.

I contact AMEX and tell them what had happened Amex deletes 1 charge. 2 weeks later I get double billed again, so now I have been billed 4 times for the work. It takes about 2 days of numerous calls to get through them again. I get the same story, billing service messed up, will be taken care of. It took about 2 more weeks to get this worked out. With me having to call a lot. The lady who answered the phone was always nice and polite, but it seemed like it never went anywhere once we hung up.

So after 8 weeks or so I call again to ask for an ETA and am told this week, well this week comes and goes. On week 10 I call again and and am told 2 days, well 2 days comes and goes.

I finally received the gun, just a few days short of 4 months. I want to say that I have no problem waiting(I've waited more than 2 years for for CS guitars), it's just tell me it's going to take 4 months, not 6 weeks then when I ask keep telling me 2 more days.

So I get the gun, and they did beautiful work. Would I use them again, No.

    After

I've heard the stories about the long lead times as well. They have a new system where you reserve your spot. They call you when they are ready for your parts and then you should see a 1 week turn around. It seems like a step in the right direction so your gun or rifle isn't down while you wait. I'm sending them my XD 45 Slide and possibly my messed up Cal Guns Lower to get refinished in Olive Drab.

I don't know where you're located but I've always had great work done by Dave at www.davesmetalworks.com

Fair price and turn around. He's building me a Commander when it's finished I'll figure out how to post picitures.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.
