    Re-DROS after 30 days?

So my recent purchase from a PPT is still locked up. I was suppose to pick up the gun on the 22nd of December but there was a delay in delivery. I called and all they said that was a second party was doing an investigation on the gun. My question is that since there was a delay in processing, do we have to DROS it again? Thanks!

Ordinarily, yes, but if the delay was caused by the DOJ sending the FFL a "do not release" notice, I would imagine that the clock would stop until the FFL is authorized to release.... but I don't know that for a fact.

I'm going to say yes you will have to start a new DROS.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

I guess I'll just have to wait and see what they say when it finally gets released...if it ever. Hopefully I will get it. Thanks guys!

Didn't you go to get it in person?

I've just dealt with a very similar issue.

A customer was on "delay" for almost 6 months. When the DOJ finally got around to releasing the delay, I was sure that we would have to re-dros since it had been more than 30 days.

However, I confirmed that before the DOJ releases a delay or hold, they do another background check, and that starts the 30-day clock over.

So you actually have 30 days from after the release notice is dated.

Good to hear that you dealt with a similar situation. I'm hoping it doesn't take six months though.

The reason it went on for 6 months was almost entirely the fault of the customer, rather than the DOJ.

The DOJ is actually pretty quick about fixing things as long as you do your part.
