So my recent purchase from a PPT is still locked up. I was suppose to pick up the gun on the 22nd of December but there was a delay in delivery. I called and all they said that was a second party was doing an investigation on the gun. My question is that since there was a delay in processing, do we have to DROS it again? Thanks!

Re-DROS after 30 days?

Ordinarily, yes, but if the delay was caused by the DOJ sending the FFL a "do not release" notice, I would imagine that the clock would stop until the FFL is authorized to release.... but I don't know that for a fact.- Rich

I guess I'll just have to wait and see what they say when it finally gets released...if it ever. Hopefully I will get it. Thanks guys!Comment

I've just dealt with a very similar issue.
A customer was on "delay" for almost 6 months. When the DOJ finally got around to releasing the delay, I was sure that we would have to re-dros since it had been more than 30 days.
However, I confirmed that before the DOJ releases a delay or hold, they do another background check, and that starts the 30-day clock over.
So you actually have 30 days from after the release notice is dated. Please read the Calguns Wiki
Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

The reason it went on for 6 months was almost entirely the fault of the customer, rather than the DOJ.
The DOJ is actually pretty quick about fixing things as long as you do your part. Please read the Calguns Wiki
