I recently purchased my first handgun from an online retailer and so in addition to needing a local FFL dealer to do the transfer I also needed to take the HSC test. I contacted three FFL dealers in my area via computer but one way and another struck out with each one. Then I decided to take "a chance" on a new business I'd read about here at calguns: UG Imports.
Right off the bat I was impressed with the prompt, positive attention my email received and happily surprised to learn that the transfer would cost HALF of what everyone else was charging for the same service.
I soon realized that UG Imports has wisely invested in sophisticated software that is capable of communicating simultaneously with customers, retailers/shippers and the DOJ. Within hours of establishing my order with UG Imports, my gun's retailer (which had grown impatient waiting for a viable FFL go-ahead) notified me that my gun had shipped. Two days later UG Imports emailed to announce that my gun had arrived and I was invited to schedule an appointment to come in and take care of all the paperwork. I almost emailed back, "Are you kidding me?! I get to come in at MY convenience???" -such wonderful efficiency!- then performed the safe-handling "demo". We were done in ten minutes, and my gun was at last mine.
I told the owner how much I appreciated his congenial professionalism and made arrangements to transfer a couple of rifles (I wish he would train gun shop owners how to behave!)
