    Anyone buying WASR-10's ?

Has anyone bought the WASR-10 (Romanian AK) made by Century International Arms, from DD's ranch or other dealer. I am interested in buying one and want to know if they are an OLL and what the quality of the rifle was? Thanks.

That should be just about everything you need to know

I asked almost the same thing.

It looks like the price might be too good. I am thinking about going with one of the James Maddux builds instead. The guys here seem to be happy with his stuff.

Century gets a far worse rap than it deserves.

You're not getting a 100% gun, but you're not paying for one either. The folks bashing on the WASR's are the guys who think spending $250 on an AK should mean they don't have to do anything to the gun once they buy it... furniture's gonna be beautiful, no sharp edges, no trigger slap, etc.

You can fix up a WASR with nothing more than a few hand tools, to be MUCH better quality than certain out of state "premium" smiths's craptastic builds. Throw Duracoat on it and it'll look like one of the nicer home builds from Calguns, and there are some beauties on here.

The biggest point about the WASR's, is that every piece I've seen has had very nicely done rivet work. As an AK builder, that's what impresses me the most. Any monkey can put a nice finish on it once it's done.

I was actually reading reviews about them not being a bad rifle for the price.

The WASR might be the only Century product I'd buy since the chamber's just loose enough you ain't gonna have headspace problems.

The Century Garands and other Century refinished/rebarreled rifles do give me great worry about headspace.

This one has some mag movement ...left to right...but has no problem shooting. I was told these WASR 10/63 were single stack mag rifles converted to double and do not have the dimples on the sides but rather have a plate above the magwell.

Here is the one I was looking at and shooting.

They don't need fixing up unless you need a really nice finish or something but that can be done easy enough.
