Wife received 3 guns that were originally her Fathers

Her father Passed away in a car accident when she was only 13, so her uncle kept the guns in his safe until she was older and became interested in them, about the time she met me.
They are nothing special, a revolver a semi auto and a 22lr rifle, nothing to get exited about over than they are 3 free guns.

Given that her father passed away so long ago there is no record of these guns been registered and nothing her uncle knew about.

What does she or we need to do to get them registered with the DOJ.

Should we become concerned that he might not of registered them all those years ago.

And that they are now in my wife's possession

Some say that he once mooned two prostitutes just for a round of drinks, but wasn't surprised by the reply......They call him, the Hutch
Some say that he rode a dirtbike 7k miles across the country and that he once applied Bengay to his own testicles for a mere $50............They call him, the Hutch -Top Gear

If they weren't registered all those years ago why do it now?

I believe you could look up family transfer on the CA DOJ website and that should help. I've got nothing to do right now so I'll see what I can find.

Just send in this form with $19, (http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/pdf/oplaw.pdf) all the guns will be registered to your Wife, also remember under law she needs to have her HSC card.
I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

If you're in a survival movie and the hot blond twists her ankle and can't walk, you damn well figure a way to carry her. If it's a dude, you shake his hand and say "best of luck".

Depending on her age and when she turned 21 this could be true, but without that info, it's just easier to send in the form.

              That's what I would do....

esp. in this state, when/if they are stolen, and then recovered... they will come back to her...otherwise...it's a hassle getting them back...register them and no worries...

Or...since Dad gave them to her in 1987, I wouldn't worry about it at all.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero

It's $19 per handgun, also the rifle does not need to be registered.

i would not reg any of them. there is no law stating that all guns must be reg'd. she was technically given these guns long ago. copy the serials for your records and move on. shoot them when you like or just safe them. it is not against the law to have unregistered weapons. as long as they are not registered assault weapons or a weapon in a protected class.
