The simple problem with the firearms industry is that the government has done a very good job of limiting the size of and the competition in the market.

When that happens, quality always declines and prices aren't moderated.

Needless to say I didn't waste my money.
Maybe the website hasn't been updated to refelct their current pricing? Many online gun-parts companies and gun stores got into having a web-page, it was a huge novelty, then let the upkeep of it die.

A good example is Martin B. Rettings' website: it's a great looking easy to use website, and except for a graphics change back in 2005, I doubt it's been utilized or updated in over a year or more.

It's sad but gun shows are dying. It's not just cause of legislation but also online business. Shows take lots of time for dealers and buyers. It's easier to post online and cost less than sittin in a show all day. Internet is 24/7. You see more non-gun junk dealers than ever before as promoters take them in just to create a show. For a buyer it's $8 - $10 parking, $5 for the show, wasted time sifting for hours and not finding a dang thing and all else at inflated prices. Online, you've got saved search alerts, and ability to search a coast to coast supply.

The AW laws combined with the DOJ safety list hurt many gun show firearm dealers who only sold used guns.

Really? Regulation has nothing to do with accessories. Regulation hasn't limited the number of firearms sold so that the market for accessories is smaller?

          Glad I can't count.

yeah I didn't see much of anything at that gun show when I went on saturday. Just a bunch of samurai swords and fat women selling useless trinkets.

I'm with you on this one.

Let's not forget the ridiculous restrictions placed by companies like Sportsman Guide on what they will/won't ship to CA.

              Galil bipod = restricted. WTF!?

All the companies that won't sell .50 BMG ball into Cali.

I've seen night vision systems listed as restricted, and I'm not talking weapon scopes.

I'd say gun shows bottomed out, and are now improving.

But you are totally right, the prices most vendors charge at them are too high. Outside of ammo, there aren't nearly as many deals to be found at them as in the "old days".

I'm sure the cost of a floor spot is high at del mar.
