    List of Sacramento area ranges?

Just curious if anyone happens to have a list of the greater Sacramento area gun ranges.

    Thanks

Whoa I never realized that Mangan was that close to me.

Can anyone comment on how good Mangan is?

Mangan is volunteer run and has limited hours, but it's a nice range and the volunteers are cool. Plus it's way cheap and close for me.

Don't know how up to date it is, but there's a California Club and Range Listing. (actually, looks recent - has Center Mass in Vacaville, which opened/re-opened late-ish last year)

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

I've shot several Sectional matches there in the past. As an indoor range, I give it a good rating, but again, my viewpoint is from a few years back.

I've been hitting up the yolo sportsmans association. It's awesome. The people there are friendly but if you join as a member (50 bucks for 13 months of membership) it's only 2 bucks to shoot. It's heck of worth it. I'm joining soon. The first time I went, I spent 14 bucks and that was for the rifle/pistol range and for a round of skeet/trap. I spent nearly 4 hours there and had a blast.

Mangan is in a run down neighborhood. At night, the facility has only a few spot lights that are still working that haven't been broken by the local inhabitants. A few years back, they installed a video camera so the staff could see what gun owner was getting robbed on their way in/out.

The range itself is nice with mechanical moving target mover. I believe its 25 yards only on the targets. Nothing shorter from my last experience of the range master yelling at some other shooter who want to shoot at 10 yards.

Also be aware, regardless how you have been trained previously on using a handgun, the rangemaster can and will disagree on your handling procedure and tell you its their way or the highway even if it doesn't logically make sense.

Yeah, I'm one of the volunteer RSOs.

There is also the Alta Mesa Gun Club located in Wilton(just east of Elk Grove). This is a private trap club, not open to public. http://www.amgc.net/
