You're only going to be using irons if your red dot is off, anyway right? So it's really up to you whether you want them that much in the picture when the red dot is on.

Some people co witness with the irons in the bottom third of the red dot viewing area. Only you know if you are comfortable with raising your red dot high enough to get your sights to work that way.

So really, it's up to you.

Back on topic:

I would return the sights and get a set that folds down. I don't know why people like the co-witness setup. I tried it and the sight picture is way too busy. Magpull has a cheap BUS that works great and keeps the sights put of the picture when folded down. Good luck, Sammy
