Getting ammo is a pain in LA, but I drive through Palmdale/Lancaster on the way to the desert. Anyone know a good place for ammo there?

The Gun Store on Sierra highway between J and Lancaster Blvd, closer to Lancaster Blvd. Sometimes they have good stuff, It's kind of hit and miss, they have a lot of customers, so sometimes it goes quick. There has been times when they have a ton of surplus, I go in two days later and it's gone.
There is another shop on Sierra hwy and P. It got terrible reviews on this forum, and to my better judgement I went anyway, once, Horrible customer service, will never go again. I think its called Santa Fe gun shop. There is one more place on Ave Q and 20th East, but they hardly ever have anything. Those are all the Palmdale/Lancaster spotsIf you are not outraged you are not paying attention!!!

High Desert Storm is in Palmdale on Q as was mentioned and I'll say it again in case you didn't read it right. STAY AWAY from Santa Fe Guns, the little troll that runs the place needs a swift kick in the *****.
The Gun Shop on Sierra Hwy is okay, it's a toss up on what you're going to find and what they're going to charge you. There's also a place out in Rosamond, it's an Karl's Hardware that has a gun section in it.
Other then that you could always stop at one of the Wal-Marts out here on your way.50 BMG Shooters http://50-bmg.com/forum/index.phpComment

The one time I went to the Santa Fe gun store, I asked if they had any 6.8 ammo, he replied, "Is that a custom round you manufactured yourself?"

That sounds about right.
I was in there once and a guy walked in and asked if they had a gunsmith on site, he said "for the purpose of what"? I had to walk out as I couldn't stop laughing and didn't know if the guy was going to punch him.50 BMG Shooters http://50-bmg.com/forum/index.phpComment
