        They should have just brought out some L1A1 SLRs like we brought out the M-14. Then again, they tend to destroy all of their weapons when they're taken out of service, at least for the last couple of decades.

                            Yeah maybe but why have another 5.56 rifle when the L85A2 has SUSAT? Actually it does look like a 5.56 mag housing...

                              Ghurkas and the SAS have been using M16s for years. Maybe just carrying on the tradition of the M16 in UK service.
