    Firearm Groups on Facebook

I'd like to get your opinion on joining firearm groups on Facebook, in particular joining then posting firearm pictures to the group.

I joined one then posted a group picture with some knives not knowing that it would pop up in my news feed which is visible to all my friends, and now I'm feeling a little uneasy about it for some reason.

Would you rather keep your collection private on FB or do you see no problem with it?

I personally probably wouldn't post pictures of myself with firearms or knives and stuff like that, but I've no qualms about joining a firearms group and having it being public knowledge.

I don't understand why people insist on showing off their weapons. Use it, shoot it, keep it private.

You don't post up screen shots of your bank account or stacks of cash, don't put up your guns and other stuff, either.

Leave the description as "Firearms belonging to a friend which were lost in a recent boating accident"

Thanks, I'm actually deleting my account now. I waste too much time there.

I was never trying to show off, I grew up shooting so I'm pretty callous to the intensity with which other people view firearms as having. Of course I always treat them with the utmost respect, but I view them the same way I view a nice or unique golf club or pressure washer. I have to constantly remind myself not to bring up shooting or firearms to my friends, because some of them are insecure dumb-asses.

What I was worried about, but I didn't consider any of my FB friends goons or thieves. These days you never know though, that's the problem. It's almost always a friend of a friend of a friend.

Just about everyone who is a FB "freind" I know personally and or is a gunny themselves I know from CGN.

                  Some friends you have?

If you're on facebook and you have photos of yourself or your property you need to set your privacy settings so that only those who are actually friends with on FB can see your profile.

Don't let friends of friends view your stuff.

You can control who see's what as individuals though. You can exclude certian people by name from some photo albums and information.
I have found that most CGN members I have met and gotten to know will go out of their way to help others out.
