And the guard paid a heavy price...broken nose, broken jaw and messed up leg. What an idiot, the guard just reached for the gun without even talking to the customer.

that guard should be glad the guy he grabbed defaulted to his hand to hand training and didn't just go for a defensive shoot with his gun...

WoW, what a great story! Thanks for posting the link. The gun owner is already not getting charged, here's hoping he doesn't get sued either.

wow, wasn't a smart move at all. And I don't mean just because he tried to disarm someone that ( I assume ) was legally carrying, but why would you try to just run up and disarm someone? even if they have bad intentions. If that was so the guy would have just shot the guard.

                  KEEP THIS IN MIND PLEASE.

I was just shopping and never thought this would ever happen. I am blessed enough to be trained in CQB and didn't think about a damn thing...I just did what I am trained to do. What will you do if this happens to you? I never thought in a million years it would happen to me and I am sitting here still kinda dazed

That was an interesting read....all 12 pages. Yeah, the covert attempt to disarm someone quickly before they realize it doesnt always work as you can see here. Its a case of a poorly trained guy doing the wrong thing to a well trained guy...who incidently did the right think.

Im thinking that a very important lesson was learned here. And wow, this situation sure could have gone way south anbd badly on so many levels....

AFAIK it's in the Constitution and the BOR to have the expectation of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, to be safe in your person and your possessions.

I'd love to know how your friend got locked up for defending himself. Doesn't seem right somehow.

I shiver as I think what would have been the outcome if it was here in CA.

Berkeley Daily Planet... "Gunman Assaults Innocent Security Guard"... Read all about how we twisted it "A crazed gunman attacked a mall security guard after the guard offered to give a kitten to him for his family......."

Glad this guy has witnesses and video to back up his story. I'm also glad he stopped when he perceived the threat to be over, most mere mortals probably would not. I gotta remember that one.

Security guard is an idiot. What if that were a detective on his lunch break? I see police detectives quite a bit at my favorite lunch spot and it's often difficult to see their badges, but always easy to see their firearms.
